Established in 1958, CPRS Manitoba is one of 16 member societies from across Canada whose goal it is to advance the profession of public relations and provide its members with professional development and networking opportunities. Along with the other member societies, it is the only professional association in Canada that is solely devoted to the practice of public relations.
For almost 50 years, CPRS Manitoba has worked diligently to advance the public relations profession by promoting ethical practices and the value of effective communication. Its members follow a professional code of standards that ensures good conduct with the public interest as paramount. CPRS Manitoba also enjoys strong alliances with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) as well as the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
Members and Student Members attend monthly luncheons and other workshops, where dynamic speakers share their knowledge of industry trends and offer their expertise in various aspects of communications. Members can become accredited in public relations to further their understanding and professional growth in this industry, and Student Members can apply for scholarships given to students enrolled in full-time academic studies in public relations.
CPRS Manitoba has in its members a wealth of talented and dynamic individuals who are always interested in sharing ideas and experiences with other public relations professionals. They work in public and private sectors, government and educational institutions. The monthly luncheons offer Members the perfect scenario to meet and forge new relationships with people in the industry, and allow Student Members the opportunity to seek advice from seasoned professionals.
