Christine Alongi, Director, Communications & Public Affairs for the Winnipeg Airports Authority, will take you on a virtual tour of the new Air Terminal Building at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

Soon, the new terminal will shift from “under construction” to “open for business”. Christine will talk about the transformations underway at the airport and the WAA’s communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.

The WAA was recognized as one of Manitoba’s Top Employers for 2010. Christine calls this a tribute to the WAA team’s commitment, even in an environment of change and construction. Find out how communications and public affairs plays a key role in ensuring all airport stakeholders are engaged and prepared for the Air Terminal Building’s opening day.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Christine Alongi, Director Communications & Public Affairs, has been with Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) since June of 2003. Reporting to the CEO, she is responsible for the organization’s internal and external communications and public relations strategy. She acts as media spokesperson for the WAA on all matters, including corporate messaging, airport site redevelopment, airport campus developments, and crisis communications. The airport’s Public Relations strategy includes being an effective community partner. In support of that, Christine works with various community organizations to use the airport and provide in-kind sponsorships.
